Our Village School

At the Heart of Croxton Kerrial Since 1848

Tucked away in the beautiful countryside of the Vale of Belvoir, Croxton Kerrial CE Primary School has been the warm beating heart of our village for over 175 years.

Though small in size, our school is big in spirit. With around 36 pupils aged 4 to 11 (spanning Reception through Year 6), our close-knit environment feels like one big family. Here, every child is known by name, nurtured with care, and inspired to develop a love for learning.

By purchasing The Croxton Community Cook Book, you aren't just getting a collection of delicious recipes—you are directly helping us invest in our children's everyday experiences, outdoor learning, and bright futures.

Where Your Support Goes

100% of the profits from this cookbook go directly to the Croxton Kerrial Primary School PTA to fund vital support services and enrichment projects.

Below are the key initiatives these funds will support. While our total raised will determine how many of these goals we can fully achieve, the school team will carefully prioritise every pound to ensure it delivers maximum benefit to our children’s learning and wellbeing:

Breakfast Clubs 5 Days a Week: Providing a warm, welcoming start to the day with a variety of fun activities. This wrap-around care offers essential support for hard-working local families while helping our children flourish socially and emotionally.

The Outdoor Classroom: Contributing directly toward the building fund for a dedicated outdoor classroom space. Led by our fully accredited Forest School teachers, this environment will serve as the home for our Forest School sessions, bringing hands-on learning, nature exploration, and fresh rural air into daily school life.

Educational Trips & Transport: Broadening our pupils' horizons through school trips throughout the academic year. Being a small rural school means every outing requires coach hire—a major expense across the year that these funds help subsidise so every child can take part.

The Children’s Wish List: We also asked the pupils what would make our school even better! Depending on final funds raised, we hope to make some of these pupil-led ideas a reality:

  • A School Pet: Adding a furry companion to teach empathy, responsibility, and bring extra joy to everyday school life.

  • Playground Swings: Bringing new play equipment to the schoolyard to keep breaktimes active, fun, and energetic.

  • A Treehouse or Wooden Den: A rustic climbing structure or secret outdoor hideout for imaginative play during lunchtimes.

  • A Mud Kitchen & Bug Hotel: Dedicated messy-play and mini-beast investigation stations for younger pupils to explore nature up close.

  • An Obstacle Course / Trim Trail: Wooden balance beams, stepping logs, and cargo nets to build outdoor agility and teamwork.

  • Cozy Reading Nooks: Beanbags, teepees, or outdoor "reading pods" where pupils can curl up with a good book during quiet times.

  • New Sports Equipment & Goal Nets: Fresh football nets, dodgeballs, and tennis sets to elevate breaktime matches on the school field.

  • Giant Outdoor Art & Chalkboards: Large, weather-proof easel boards along the playground walls for creative outdoor drawing.

  • An End-of-Term Ice Cream Van Visit: A special festive or summer treat brought straight to the school gates for all 36 pupils!
